So yesterday I went to an Arts Council meeting in the morning for one orchestra, then went to a rehearsal for another orchestra in the afternoon, and finally played a chamber music concert in the evening. Whew! Let's do it again this week! This is actually a light week - rehearsals just Monday and Wednesday night with an orchestra board meeting on Tuesday.

Three Orchestras

I'm the principal bass in three different orchestras in the South Bay. Nova Vista,  Palo Alto Philharmonic , and   Mission Chamber. The good news is there a remarkably low degree of conflict in the schedules for these three. The bad news is I'm playing almost every night - which would not be such bad news if I didn't also work a night shift job!

I'm planning to blog about the fun and travails of playing in three orchestras - oh, did I mention I also play in four other groups when I have time? Opera, musicals, G&S and even more orchestras! You'd think I do this full time!
